Subject: Parallel port printer will no longer print
XP SP2
Lexmark E238, self tests fine.
Was working now will not print.
Have un-installed, powered off 'puter. Powered off printer (pulled plug).
Turn on puter then turn on printer.  XP finds new hardware says it is
installed.  No Joy.

Ideas?  What to do, prefer from experience.

TIA

Lou

Omitted here:
1.  Whether Lou uses Lexmark or WinXP printer drivers
2.  When this printer driver was last updated.
3.  Whether any other software was installed just before
this change in behavior.

I pretty sure the thing blew when I did a virus scan.
Using Lexmark driver.
I think the spooler may be the problem.
